Introduction

01.

I've decided to publish the progress in my honours project online to give participants (and anyone interested) a chance to comment and share feedback on the project's research areas. Additionally it's hoped that the articles, links and PDFs i'll publish will help other researchers resource themselves with the knowledge they may need for their own project. So make sure you add the RSS to your feed and sign up with Google Friend Connect, to keep in touch.

So throughtout 2010 i'll be working hard on my honours project, which in a nutshell is all about my course (Visual Communciations @ University of Western Sydney) and the people in it and around it. Throughout my 3 years of study I noticed how individuals within the course (mostly staff) put a lot of effort into improving the course experience, with few resources to make it easier. It seemed crazy that the few indviduals who'd put the effort in to organsing a guest lecture, documentary screening, or even a BBQ would be rewarded with extra stress and limited attendance by students.

With that observation in mind, this project propose a solution. The idea is that we create an independent network for participants of the course, with the ultimate intention being that the network will help support the developing design culture at UWS, enriching all it’s participants and assisting the courses with it intended outcomes. Basically making life easier for the few who are already working towards those aims and encouraging others to follow in their footsteps. Simple enough intention, but it's a project that will no dount uncover a few wicked problems.

Anyway, lot's more details - all potential boring, so feel free to check out specs.pdf in your own time for a more specific/academic introduction.
